AMG in the Mountains: Val D’Isère Trip

Adam recently took things out of the gym and into the mountains, heading over to Val D’Isère for a few days on the slopes. Along with his wife Clare and a group of friends (who also happen to be AMG members), he swapped barbells for skis and quickly realised that this might be one of the most humbling forms of “cardio” going.

It didn’t take long to feel muscles working in ways they definitely don’t during a standard session, but that was all part of it. Long days on the slopes, a few questionable turns here and there and plenty of laughs along the way - safe to say it was a great few days all round.

What made it even better was the group itself. Getting away from the usual routine and doing something completely different together is what AMG is all about - pushing yourself, trying new things and enjoying the process, not just the outcome.

And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper ski trip without a bit of après. Once the skis were off, the focus shifted slightly - still social, still active… just with a slightly different kind of recovery strategy.

Adam came back convinced of one thing - this won’t be a one-off. Being out in the mountains, moving all day and switching things up was something he properly enjoyed, so don’t be surprised if this becomes a more regular feature to the grid!!

All in all, a great trip, a lot of laughs and proof that training doesn’t always have to look the same to be effective… even if skiing might leave you more sore than leg day…
