Three Days That Changed How We Assess Clients

”If you're not walking away from a Luke Leaman course and questioning your own competence, you ain't doing it right."

That was Adam's biggest takeaway after spending three days completing a Lower Body Structural Balance course with one of the industry's most respected educators.

The course focused on assessment strategies, movement analysis and understanding how the body functions as a whole. From joint mechanics and movement ranges to identifying structural imbalances, the weekend provided a deeper understanding of how the lower body influences performance, movement quality and long-term progress.

While much of the technical detail happens behind the scenes, the real value lies in how this knowledge translates into better coaching.

One of the biggest outcomes from the course is a renewed focus on client assessments.

Moving forward, Adam will be implementing more detailed structural and postural assessments during the onboarding process, helping to identify potential limitations, imbalances and movement patterns before training programmes are built.

Rather than simply looking at a client's goals, this approach allows coaching to be tailored to how that individual actually moves.

By understanding posture, movement quality and structural considerations from the outset, training programmes can be designed with greater precision and purpose.

As part of this development, AMG will be utilising dedicated assessment space to carry out more comprehensive postural and structural analysis for new clients, ensuring coaching decisions are informed by more than just what is visible in the gym.

For Adam, courses like this aren't about collecting certificates.

They're about continually raising standards and finding new ways to improve the client experience.

Because better assessments lead to better programmes.

And better programmes lead to better results.
